How to Sprout Seeds in a Jar

Day 1

Day 2

Day 3-7

Enjoy your fresh Own Microgreens

Day 1

Add 2 tablespoon/ 0.33 oz of seeds into a 32 oz jar, fill up the jar half way with filtered water, gently shake the jar so seeds are evenly soak in the water. Close the mesh lid, Leave the jar in the pantry or inside a cabinet at room temperature overnight.

Day 2

Next morning, without taking off the mesh lid, drain out the soak water. Rinse the seeds twice with fresh filtered water. Jar should be placed upside down at an angle, so the excess water can easily drain out. Put the jar back in the pantry or cabinet.

Important: drain out all water; spin the jar around to spread out the seeds onto the walls, preferably at a single layer. This is to avoid extra moisture which can cause the seeds to rot.

Day 3-7

Day 3-4: Repeat the Day 2 process. Up until this point, the sprouts will be yellow in color. You also might notice white fuzz around your seeds- don’t panic, it is not mold! It is celia hairs, indicating that the seeds are thirsty, once rinsed, fuzz will be gone.

Day 5-7: Rinse your seeds twice in the morning; relocate them onto a fairly lit location (no direct sunlight). Sprouts will now green up. Repeat rinse in the evening.

WASH & ENJOY

Day 8: Harvest time. Today your jar should be filled up with nice green sprouts. Remove sprouts from the jar. Wash and shake off the seed shells. Enjoy fresh for 5 days. Please store fresh sprouts in a glass container in a fridge.
